Vision Therapy

Vision therapy is an individualized programme of visual activities and exercises designed and performed by appropriately trained optometrists. It is an attempt to develop or improve the child’s visual skills and abilities. Some of the skills that are worked on in a vision therapy programme are visual-perceptual skills, visual-spatial perception, stereoscopic perception, visual-motor coordination, binocular cooperation, etc.

A vision therapy programme therefore consists of supervised strengthening exercises which are done either at the doctor’s office, in our building or in the child’s home. These programmes can last from weeks to months. In addition to exercises, lenses, prisms, children’s eye patches, electronic targets, floating equipment or balance boards can be used.
